The Tea and Garden Rooms are a fully serviced restaurant facility with ample seating for 30 guests.
They serve only the freshest foods – eggs laid by their own free range hens and herbs and vegetables lovingly cultivated in their own gardens.
This delightful stone restaurant dates back to 1790, when it was built as a residence for Coast Security officers. Nearly two centuries later it was bought in a derelict condition by the O'Donoghue family, who then rebuilt it and opened it as a tea room and gardens.
The Burren has attracted a great many artisan food producers and at The Tea and Garden Rooms they work with them to provide only the finest ingredients to create their mouth-watering foods. They are also renowned for their tempting range of home-baked fare.
The Burren, from the Gaelic word "Boireann", is an area of limestone rock covering imposing majestic mountains and tranquil valleys with gently meandering streams. With its innate sense of spiritual peace, extraordinary array of flora and wildlife and megalithic tombs and monuments older than Egypt's pyramids, the Burren creates a tapestry of colour and a seductively magical aura which few people leave without wanting to experience again.
